Philip Salmon

Philip Salmon and Anna Jeoffroy have been holistic practitioners for many years and have introduced their Reflexology Students to Dr Bach’s Flower Essences as a tool for them to manage the emotional ups and downs that get in the way of the development of many aspiring therapists.

Early in the 1990’s they began to work with the remedies paying particular attention to the groups that Dr Bach organized the essences into. They became more and more convinced these groups relate to the chakras. Out of this work they developed their book Dr Bach’s Flower Remedies – tapping into positive emotional qualities of the chakras – available from Amazon

Philip had been a holistic practitioner and teacher for over 30 years and had a broad and deep knowledge of all aspects of energy medicine. His courses reflected both his profound understanding of reflexology and holistic healthcare. This was nurtured in his work at Enton Hall Naturopathic Clinic where, as a practitioner and manager, he planned and oversaw treatment programmes including, fasting, diet reform, neuromuscular massage, hydrotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic, for more than 70 residential patients. His qualifications covered many energy/holistic therapies, including Cranio Sacral therapy, Electro-Crystal therapy, Painless Spinal Touch, Touch for Health and Colour therapy, as well as, of course, Reflexology.

Diane Gray

Diane was a trained masseuse, aromatherapist, Reiki healer and reflexologist who worked for a victim support centre, a local cancer support centre and as a complementary therapist in Christie's hospital, Manchester - a famous establishment for specialised cancer care.

She had a natural love of flowers and entered into her training as a BFVEA Practitioner with Jan Stewart in 2002 making an essence on the course named 'A Special Place' which was beautifully described and presented, full of love and very much reflected Diane herself.

Diane organised the BFVEA Gathering for five years - a wonderful, personal contribution to the group.  Arriving tired and stressed at the Gathering, one was always greeted calmly and peacefully by her, dressed immaculately, without a hair out of place and without a hint that she had already worked for part of the morning and had a five hour journey herself.  Everything would have been perfectly thought out and efficiently organised; individual's needs would have been met with a minimum of fuss and effort;  events would flow naturally but efficiently; contributors would feel much loved and appreciated and participants would be able to relax and have a thoroughly enjoyable time

She continued to expand her knowledge and skills beginning to think more about teaching.  Diane became a BFVEA Tutor and developed a 'baby massage' course to help young, 'at risk' mothers to bond with their offspring.  She contributed an article called 'Therapist as Teacher' to a ook, Massage and Body Work:  Adopting Therapies for Cancer Care (Churchill Livingstone: Elsevier Ltd., 2006).

Diane was still having a busy and active life, and looking forward to the 2009 Gathering when she was diagnosed, in November 2008 with cancer.  Typically she grasped the challenge without 'bothering' friends.  So it was a shock for the committee to hear of her passing on 10th April.

Diane will always have a special place in the hearts of all BFVEA Members who knew her and I know every member would like to pass on their love and sympathy to her husband and family.
