Making a dosage bottle
You can make up your own personal combination of flower essences by diluting them into an empty glass bottle (which does not reduce their potency). This is known as a 'dosage bottle'. To do so, take a clean, glass dropper bottle of about 30ml (obtained from a chemist or flower essence distributor) and add 25% brandy or vodka as a preservative (when alcohol is not suitable, substitute apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerine). Using 'stock' strength, add 2 to 3 drops of each of your selected essences (from any essence range) and fill the remainder of the botle with spring water. As a guide take 7 drops morning and night until the bottle is finished. On occasions it might be appropriate to take more often during say, an acute situation. Keep your bottle away from sunlight, electrical appliances and chemicals. One of the most important things about taking essences is that you should do so consistently for them to be effective. Generally, essences are taken orally, although they can be used topically, in the bath or via a misting bottle.
Label and date your dosage bottle.
