The Essence of Success - Sabina Pettitt – Pacific Essences

I was astonished to wake up in 2018 and realize that Pacific Essences® was thirty-five years old.

There was a celebration for us in Brazil in April which I talked about in a newsletter. The energy around this event just kept growing and my astonishment of January turned to a sense of wonderment and delight by the time I was heading to Japan in August to enjoy a 35th Birthday Party in Tokyo. That celebration was amazing!!! One hundred people sharing laughter and
tears and fabulous stories about how Pacific Essences® had changed their lives through either physical, mental or emotional healing. One woman shared that because of us she had become a millionaire instead of an ordinary housewife. She had created one of the first online stores which sold our essences. And indeed for a woman in Japan this is a most unusual accomplishment.

I recall when we first created Pacific Essences®, my husband Michael, whose first career was as a chartered accountant, told me that most small businesses went bankrupt in the first five years. So from a practical perspective alone,
getting to thirty-five years is really quite an accomplishment.

I am now committed to the notion that when a human being is on the path they are meant to be on, Nature supports them. In our case, connecting with Nature became our journey and life work.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) there are five elements – Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood – and this idea of individual purpose is expressed in the Wood element. An acorn does not try to be a rose. It just fulfills its own unique destiny.

Humans, on the other hand, have a tendency ‘to follow the program’ that has been set out for them in their social programming from families, schools, religions and cultures. I guess it is no wonder that despite my initial resistance to
creating it, our Abundance Essence™ is one of the best-selling essences on the planet. And the Abundance Program™ has been translated into six languages and has been a major tool for people to examine their beliefs and to delete the ones which may be limiting their ability to find and to live their purpose.

No one could have told either of us in the early 1980s that this was how our lives were going to unfold and that in 2018 Pacific Essences® would be known and used all around the world. And no one could have predicted that we would
pioneer the first Sea Essences on the planet right here on Vancouver Island.

So what is/was our Recipe for Success? For the celebration in Japan I came up with eleven ingredients. I believe that these habits and attitudes which we cultivated over the years have made a huge contribution to the success of Pacific Essences®

1 Presence The Past is history. The future is a mystery. This moment is a gift. That’s why it is called the Present. Being in the present moment keeps us free of ‘the internal pernicious influences’, a TCM term for fear, worry, anger, grief and over-excitement or shock.

2 Meditate One of the best tools for being present is to practice meditation. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi always said: “Do Less and Accomplish More”, which literally means that if we tap into the field of Creative Intelligence through meditation, it takes less effort to accomplish tasks. Moreover, out of the experience of the ‘stillness’ achieved in meditation our minds and bodies are rejuvenated.

3 “You Don’t Know That” After Michael stopped being a chartered accountant, he became an anthropologist. When people made sweeping generalizations about anything, Michael’s comeback was almost always: “You don’t know that.” When people share memories of Michael they often remember this phrase as his tagline. And most admit to feeling some sense of frustration about being challenged to apply critical thinking. What I realize now is that when we approach reality with this
idea foremost in our minds we are open to experience and a sense of curiosity. I am certain that if we thought we knew everything about all these lovely flowers and sea beings, Pacific Essences® could not possibly be where it is today. So much of this journey has been about discovery.

4 Ask for Guidance From our work with ‘A Course in Miracles’ we began to practice pausing in peace and asking to be guided by our Higher Selves or Guides. It is an amazing gift to be able to set aside who we think we are – our egos – and reach for energy and information to support our highest good.

5 Make Deliberate Conscious Choices Essentially after we got the guidance in step 4 above, it was really important to act on it. Acting on inner guidance became an invitation for Spirit to be actively involved in the journey.

6 This, Or Something Better Whenever we faced any kind of obstacle or unexpected challenge or difficulty, we would use this affirmation, trusting that how we responded to the situation at hand paved the way for solutions and would open the door to all the next potential outcomes.

7 Kindness, Compassion, Mercy We did our best to live our lives informed by these three qualities. The essences themselves are healing gifts from Nature and are Nature’s Kindness, Compassion and Mercy for humans.

8 Forgiving Cutting the cords that bind us to past painful experiences is a huge gift to ourselves and has nothing at all to do with anyone who harmed us. Forgiving someone does not mean at all that you have to have a relationship with them again or eat a meal with them or even speak to them again. It merely means that we have disconnected from the source of pain, established tranquillity in our being and have the freedom to become who we can be.

9 Gratitude Expressing thanks for all the blessings in our lives actually brings more blessings to us. What if the only things that were in your world when you woke up in the morning were the things that you gave thanks for before you went to sleep the night before? Giving thanks brings us into the present moment and helps us to appreciate all the good things in our lives.

10 You Can Transform Anything This is another beautiful way to release rigid beliefs and limiting attitudes. Master Choa Kok Sui once asked Michael to transform any negative energies in chicken at a restaurant in Delhi. The Indians who were with him were horrified that the Master would eat meat. Master Choa told them that after Michael blessed it, he was eating Prana.

11 Love The most powerful force in the universe. Not only did we love each other beyond words but we also loved Mother Earth. Being connected to and caring for Mother Earth by way of the gardens we created and spending time in Nature and listening to her messages is fundamentally what created Pacific Essences®. As we loved Nature, Nature gave back to us
with grace and abundance and led us on this incredible journey.
