The World of Essences
Come and spend a weekend in the world of essences. Whether you’ve been making them for decades or are just starting, you’re warmly invited.
People who speak your language. Essences on the table. Conversations that don’t need explaining. Bring your questions, your curiosity, your stock bottles and products, your stories.
Here’s what the weekend holds:
Talks. Small-group workshops. Essence making. Time at the lab. Music, movement, and unhurried time in the Ammerdown grounds. And, of course, the evening quiz.
You asked for more time, and we listened. After last year’s feedback, we’re extending the breaks. More room to chat, visit the essence producers, or sit quietly in the chapel or grounds.
Four themes run through the weekend: companionship, connection, inspiration, motivation.
Residential, non-residential and day tickets. One-off payment or instalments. Scroll down for the options and payment links.
We’d love to see you there!

Testimonials
What previous participants have said:
“The Gathering has given me more of a sense of belonging, so inspiring to meet other practitioners. I learnt a great deal over the weekend and feel motivated to learn more. I will continue to co-create with nature but in a more conscious way, especially when growing plants on the allotment. I am taking away new friendships and contacts.” HB
“The Gathering is a wonderfully inspiring event, professionally and personally. So enjoyable. You feel nurtured in every sense of the word and can escape from the cares of the world for a few days in such a lovely place of calm and peace. It can be enjoyed by practitioners and those interested in flower therapy alike. Pooling knowledge and skills, meeting like-minded folks when I don’t get the chance except at the Gathering. Sharing knowledge, ideas, experiences, information.” SW
“The Gathering was really valuable; everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Personally, I felt really connected; professionally, it’s given me the impulse to finish my portfolio. Do it, it’s a fantastic event! The venue was fantastic!” Pip
“I took away inspiration, enthusiasm and lots of ideas – seeds for the future. Plus, the love shared from a like-minded tribe!I would totally recommend it. In fact, I did recommend it to a fellow student who studied with me at Chalice Well a couple of years ago, and although she hasn’t yet qualified, I persuaded her to come along this year – she wasn’t disappointed! Ammerdown is a beautiful place and set in equally exquisite grounds where one can easily access woodland paths and vistas – important on a retreat such as this during which one is open to receive so much information and therefore in need of quiet times in nature to reflect and process one’s thoughts.” AW
“A beautiful time out – meeting lovely and open-minded new people. Great food too” MK
“The Gathering is absolutely invaluable; I had no highlight as it was all so lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Ammerdown is a beautiful, relaxing venue with beautiful walks and a chance to just stop and breathe. It was wonderful to catch up with practitioners and lovely to meet new people. I always learn so much from chatting with people, either at activities, meals or in the bar in the evening.I’m taking away so much and can’t wait for next year! Do it!” CD
“Invaluable… and very important, as so many of us work on our own, not in a clinic or part of a team.Laughter, fun, inspiration, and a sense of connection to nature. COME…. it will be worth the effort”. KQ
“Absolutely brilliant. We live spread out around the country, and Zoom just doesn’t have the same energy.Book early!” Karen
